Things are getting crazy now. Yes, Spark sold promo for 15 years. And yes, we were outgrowing our digs. And yes, we found a place on the edge of the suburbs that was attached to a beautiful room with beautiful bones. So yes, we started a whole new arm to our business: events.
We know the power of holding an event in a beautiful space, and it goes way beyond simply accomplishing the event. It creates memories for your staff and your clients, creates a real stickiness with your brand, and it relaxes everyone involved, releasing creativity – and endorphins!
We can simply provide the space, or we can plan the event for you. We also run two specialized events: painting parties and team-building workshops.
If event insurance is required, please refer to the link below
Glen started this place too. Painting and creativity have always fueled him. Hours of practice, a stint in art school, and a spine crushing fall as a steelworker turned Glen into a serious artist (he’ll tell you the tales). Working out of his own studios in Vancouver, Bangkok, and Edmonton, Glen has been developing and showing his own particular style since 1997. Instagram took it over the top. Glen runs these painting parties; not the typical kind where everyone churns out the same basic project, but one where you create what you like with the guidance of a master.
Glen’s wife has been here at Spark from the start, cranking out babies and helping where she could (her nickname is “Moppy”). With an education degree and master’s studies in linguistics, and a series of jobs that demanded team building inside and outside of organizations, she is excited to return to her roots. Play is at the core of her workshops, as is a passion for personality/learning/working styles. Joy will work with you beforehand to determine your needs, and your group will leave bonded and giggling.

Basic: This party is really fun and comes with everything you need to send everyone home happy, toting their own acrylic-paint-on-stretched-canvas masterpiece.
Team building: When you book this, you’re getting more than some fun times painting. We’ll provide some games and simulations to get you thinking like a team, and in addition to making personal paintings, your team will develop either a pre planned or on-the-spot collaborative piece, perfect to display in your own corporate home!
Creativity: Of course all of these workshops will scratch your creative itch, but this workshop includes some out-of-the-box activities that throw your team a little off balance and get you thinking creatively. This workshop is perfect for a comfortable staff that may be in comfortable little ruts. These will freshen your brains! Plus everyone makes a painting.

Paintless: Sometimes your team has been together for a long time, sometimes you’re fresh, but without some intentional team building activities, it really is hard to get a group to gel. Figuring out everyone’s personality/learning/working styles and learning to understand each other, playing freely, and accomplishing goals together is not just fun. It’s serious stuff that leads to increased productivity and workplace satisfaction.
